Southwest King County Volunteer Meet-Up (September 6)

Sunday, September 6th all Southwest volunteers are getting together at West Seattle Uptown Espresso at 10:30am to drink some coffee, go over petitioning strategy, exchange stories, plan for the weeks ahead and then head out to gather signatures at the West Seattle Farmers Market! It'll be great gathering for anyone who's new and wants to see how it's done, and equally ripe for all our seasoned signature vets out there. Please RSVP here if you can make it!

This week WAmend surpassed half what we need to make it on the ballot! This is great progress with 16 weeks to go, but we need a boost from you this week! The weather is starting to turn normal again, if you can call this last Saturday normal. We're going to need to step up our game and get organized as we head back into the fall! Thanks especially this week to Karen Turley, Christine McCann, Steve Gazzoli and Elisabeth Bell for their extremely generous donations. And of course to the tireless Jay Heyman and Annie Phillips for setting up our weekly volunteer meet-ups (see below for more info)! All your support is so impressive and instrumental. Thank you so much!

We need more volunteers committed to petitioning an hour or two a week in the final 16 weeks of this campaign in order to make it -- and it's never been easier: take a look at the SOUTHWEST KING COUNTY SIGN-UP Page to find where the greatest need in your neighborhood is! We only had a total of 91 volunteer signature gatherers this week, and only 27 were from King County. This must change if we're to make it on the ballot. Will you help?

And here are some great upcoming events you can join us at! If you're interested in attending but new, please shoot Jay Heyman or Annie Phillips a note and ask for anything you need to get started -- whether petitions or a partner to go with!

We're trying to cover these locations as often as possible and would like to know if you are able to donate an hour or two on a regular basis. Please sign up to let us know when you will be at one of these locations at the I-735 SOUTHWEST KING COUNTY PAGE:

  • West Seattle Farmer's Market
  • West Seattle PCC
  • West Seattle Trader Joes
  • Fauntleroy Ferry Dock
    • Ferry lines are gold for us! If you can help out Dave Freeman at the ferries, shoot him an email!
  • Burien Trader Joes
  • Federal Way Trader Joes
  • Marlene's Market & Deli (Federal Way)
  • Federal Way Safeway
  • Federal Way Farmer's Market
  • Vashon Island Ferry Dock

Can you think of more? Add them here!

Please come out with us on Saturday and Sunday to learn how this campaign is kicking it into high gear in the final 16 weeks! We need your help, King County! Let's do this! Let me know what you need to succeed.
