We'll have a canopy over our table outside the southern entrances of the Alaska Airlines Arena. Again, we'll have all the materials you'll need. Please brings boards if you have them; we'll have boards for those who don't. Please arrive as early as 5:00pm, as the best times to gather signatures will be when people are still waiting in line. Doors open at 6:00pm and the program begins at 7. Come grab an insane amount of signatures with us! Please plan to exit early to ask people leaving to sign and take petitions to get family, friends and others to sign.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Program begins at 7 p.m.
Finally, please take the time right now to send email@example.com this message urging the good Senator to give our campaign a shout-out for an issue he's been speaking out on repeatedly:
Could you please give Initiative 735 a shout out at the Hec Edmundson Pavilion tonight?
The measure urges our state Congressional delegation and all members of Congress to propose a federal Constitutional amendment clarifying:
It is your issue and ours, and we need a call to action to help us collect the remaining signatures needed to get this initiative on the 2016 ballot. I am a volunteer signature gatherer for Initiative 735, as we all are. We don't use paid signature gatherers. So far, we've collected 100,000 signatures and our volunteers have been working hard to collecting the remaining 200,000 needed to make the ballot. We are committed to becoming the 17th state calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, but we need your help in reaching this goal.
- Constitutional rights belong only to individuals, not corporations;
- Spending money is not free speech under the First Amendment;
- Governments are empowered to regulate political contributions and expenditures to prevent undue influence; and
- Political contributions and expenditures must be promptly disclosed to the public.
"Friends, would you look around you? The green shirts of Washington state's Initiative 735 are wielding weapons of direct democracy that you need to get your hands on. This citizen's initiative proposes a Constitutional amendment clarifying that corporations are not people, money is not speech and all political giving must be regulated and made public. It would make the ballot in 2016 if it gets enough of your signatures, and I urge you to help them with your support. Get your friends to sign this. Get your family to sign this. Get everyone you know in Washington State to sign Initiative 735!"
If Bernie were to say this it would help our political revolution grow here in Washington State. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you very much in advance for passing this email onto the right staff person(s) in the campaign.
